1. What is a Concrete Tile from Onistone?
Onistone are a unique cementitious product colored to its full thickness by a
range of inorganic pigments that combine to produce resiliency and high durability. They are
rated as suitable for heavy commercial traffic and extensive tests have shown that Onistone
are at least 4 times more resistant to wear than terrazzo tiles, proving
them to be an excellent, hard-wearing flooring that is easy to maintain. ^Top

Onistone are manufactured following strict quality procedures. The result is an engineered covering that will feature resistance, versatility and beauty in one single tile. Onistone are the best option for either commercial or residential applications.^Top
3. Do Onistone have tonal variation?
As a natural product, it is subject to tonal variation. Some spots and blemishes are expected
and are considered part of the natural appeal of the product.^Top
4. Can Onistone be affected by food acids or chemicals?
Although the Onistone have been treated for chemical resistance, they can
still be affected by food acids and chemicals. Extra impregnating sealer should be applied in
kitchens and bathrooms.^Top
5. Some tiles show tiny pit holes.
Even though its high resilience and resistance to wear and abrasion, Onistone CONCRETE
TILES may present over time tiny pit holes that do not affect inherent characteristics of the
material.^Top
6. Do the tiles need to be sealed before installing?
We advise pre sealing before installation, but if this is not done, the floor will need to be
sealed afterwards by a Silane Siloxane penetrating sealer from a reputable company. For

7. Can Onistone be used for wall cladding and outdoors?
Yes, our tiles are perfect for exterior and interior wall façades and even can withstand the
harshest of weathers from freeze, thaw and damp weather conditions without changing its
appearance.^Top
8. Are expansion joints required?
Yes, expansion joints must be installed where the tile abuts restraining surfaces and directly
over cold joints and control joints in structural surfaces and shall conform to architectural
details. Make joints through tile work directly over structural joints at least as wide as structural
joints.
Interior installations shall have expansion joints spaced a maximum of 20'0" x 20'0" (6m x
6m). Exterior areas shall have expansion joints spaced a maximum 15'0" x 15'0" (4.5m x
4.5m) or at centers determined by the project's structural engineer.^Top
Note: The responsibility for calculating the actual spacing and size of the expansion joints
rests with the architect/engineer.^Top
9. How do I maintain and care for my Onistone floor?
Onistone PRODUCT LINE requires proper care and maintenance to ensure that they always
look their best, therefore we recommend:
- Set up a regular floor maintenance schedule
- Use properly sized walk-off mats
- Sweep or dust mop daily
- Vacuum the walk off mats daily
- Use protectors on chair and table legs
For Smooth Tiles
- Clean the floor using a mild neutral detergent. Use a mop to clean edges and corners.
- Rinse and dry.
- If desired, buff floor with a high-speed gas buffer using a white pad. If unavailable use
normal buff machine.
- When required high traffic areas can be scrubbed clean with a red buffing pad. Vacuum
the walk off mats daily. Spot clean with a detergent recommended by the
manufacturer of the cleaning products.^Top
10. How can I remove stains?
Most stains can be removed by scrubbing with water and a pH-neutral detergent. For more
difficult stains use a spot cleaner (follow manufacturer's instructions). If the stain is particularly
difficult to handle contact a stone care professional.
To maintain the tiles attractive and glossy surface it is important to protect it with an antistain
agent. This special impregnating liquid prevents stains from penetrating the stone. It
is recommended for tables, countertops, windowsills, and all floors that are subject to
staining.
An anti-stain protection allows the material to breathe and maintain its original appearance
without altering the brilliance and color of the tile.^Top
11. How can I renew the shine or glossiness in Onistone tiles?
Onistone tiles can be simply renovated by following the steps outlined in our Technical Manual
Guidelines.^Top
12. Will the color be affected by the UV light from the sun?
Onistone tiles use a special designed inorganic pigment paste which contains no heavy metals,
and can withstand extended periods of time without showing any significant tonal variation.
After many years color may slowly fade evenly throughout the life expectancy of the edification
or site installed.^Top
13. Are custom colors available?
Our color pallet comprises 21 trendy colors but we are capable of preparing custom colors
depending on the client's needs and taste.^Top
14. How can I cut Onistone ?
Onistone can be cut the same way as any natural stone. The cuts should be
done with a professional wet-cutting machine, using a high quality diamond blade. Make
sure that the water used is constantly clean. Once cut, make sure to wash immediately the
tile with excess clean water. Dry excess water and wait at least 4 hours for tile to dry before

15. Are Onistone durable?
Onistone is the only product that builds strength and character overtime.

16. Are Onistone environmentally friendly?
